Help Needed! Support our Shelter Horses

By Amy King

Help needed! The HSVC recently acquired several emaciated horses as part of an abuse and neglect case. Our dedicated staff is providing continuous care for these animals as they regain their health, including using between 10 and 15 bags of shavings per week to keep their corrals clean. As a result, we are running low on shavings. We’re looking for horse-loving supporters to purchase bags of shavings from any local feed store and donate them to our shelter. Help us care for these animals in need!

HSVC Seeks Help From Local University

By Humane Society of Ventura County

HSVC is proud to announce an educational partnership with California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI) and the Center for Community Engagement (CCE). Our Humane Education program is seeking help from university students at CSUCI in an attempt to collaborate with those interested in animals and Humane Education. The initial reason for creating this opportunity was to request assistance in generating a school community survey. The purpose of the survey would be to provide data to understand how to better serve the school communities.
