This little sweetheart is Pinky! Though we haven't known Pinky for long she has already stolen all our hearts. Initially on the shy side, Pinky warms up fast. Her gentle persona and bright eyes bring joy to everyone who meets her.
As temperatures rise, shady areas become a hot commodity at the shelter. With our kennels close to capacity more areas where animals and humans can rest and relax is essential to their health and safety. Animals can suffer from heat stroke and other heat related illnesses in a variety of ways and here at the shelter it is a top priority to make sure that all animals, volunteers, and staff keep cool during these hot summer months.
The cats and kittens of the Humane Society of Ventura County need your help! Shelters everywhere are finding themselves filled to the brim with young cats and kittens, often more cats then they have room for. Here at the shelter we are facing that very problem this summer.
The Humane Society of Ventura County is proud to introduce Humane Officer Kendra Winwood(R). Winwood was officially sworn in on July 28, 2016 by Judge Henry Walsh at the Ventura County Courthouse. A ceremony was later held at the shelter in Ojai where Officer Winwood’s badge was presented to her by Director of Investigations Robert J. Hoffman and Senior Humane Officer T. Vail. Her family and friends, along with several Board members and staff of the HSVC, were present to celebrate her achievements. Shelter Director, Jolene Hoffman, spoke to the crowd about the importance of supporting our Officers who perform a difficult job every day, not only for rescuing abused and neglected animals, but the continuing education their jobs require.
Look at those beautiful eyes! Ten month old Jasper is looking for his forever home. This handsome silver tabby is already housebroken and currently lives in the kitten room with quite a few other buddies.
