Pet of the Week - Gobi
By Franki Williams
This happy guy is our new friend Gobi! Gobi is a 3 year old, Labrador Retriever mix with a heart of gold. We are still getting to know him but from what we have observed he is a very sweet guy!

Who can resist a kitten! Most people melt like a popsicle on the 4th of July when they see them. Sometimes though, we adopt one and after a few nights of no sleep, clearing them off the counters, detangling them off the couch we ask, why? Why? Kittens are often brought to shelters because their human adopters were not prepared to bring them into their home. We ask all you new kitten parents to take a deep breath and make a kitten plan!
Imagine you are walking through the parking lot after a day of shopping and you come across a car that has a dog in it. It’s a blistering 100 degree day and the windows are rolled up. You notice the dog is panting heavily. What do you do?
On June 27th, two Bulldogs were seized in the field by the Humane Society of Ventura County after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen. The two Bulldogs were taken directly to see a veterinarian-both had severe cases of myasis, more commonly known as fly strike, on their ears and heads.
Five bucks can make all the difference for an animal in need. Before you start your weekend, won't you please consider making a small donation to help two rescued Bulldogs? It's easy, just click here!
Well if she isn't just the sweetest!? Meet Emma! Emma is a female, flame point and white Siamese, who is about 3 years old. Emma is an absolute joy to have around! Miss Emma is very friendly and wants to make sure you don't forget to say, "Hi" to her when you visit our cat room.
Please join us in congratulating our Humane Officers for a job well done! We are pleased to inform our supporters that this week was another win for the animals in Ventura county.
Thank you to everyone who has left us such wonderful reviews! We truly are here to serve our community and it puts a smile on all our faces to know that the public is pleased with their experience using the different services we offer.
