Athena, a 3-year-old Siberian Husky, was brought to the Shelter by our Humane Officers at the end of September 2021. True to her breed, she is an energy-filled, playful girl looking for an active owner who is ready to keep up with her spirited personality and a home that offers an outdoor space for her to romp about. Athena is extremely smart and aims to please. She knows basic commands (sit, lay down, shake) and will sit patiently in her kennel while kennel staff puts a leash on her. Patrick came to the HSVC in late November as a transfer through our rescue partners in Santa Barbara, BUNS (Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter). Penelope, a 9-year-old Basset Hound/Dachsund mix came to our Shelter at the start of the new year through a rescue transfer. Spend five minutes with Penelope and you won't believe she is a senior pup! She will play fetch for days and even nudge the toy closer to you as she waits impatiently for it to be thrown. Bruce is a one and half year old Dogo Argentino who came to our shelter in mid-November with his fellow Dogo, Kira, after being rescued in the field by our Humane Officers. Bruce sometimes needs time to warm up to people, but once he does, he is a giant lap dog that wants to give you all the kisses and snuggles! Bruce is looking for a home with children 11-years-old and older, no small dogs or animals, and outdoor space for him to enjoy.
