Wilson’s Ready to Make a Splash in His Forever Family

Say hello to Wilson! Some dogs just seem born for adventure, and Wilson is one of them. This 4-year-old Border Collie mix came to us from Woods Humane Society, and he’s been reminding us every day just how fun life can be when you’ve got the right buddy by your side. Wilson is the kind of dog who lights up at the sight of water, whether it’s a splash in a pool, a romp with the hose, or the dream of a beach day. He’s happiest when he’s wet and wagging his tail. Pair that with his love of fetch, and you’ve got a pup who’s built for outdoor fun!

Wilson is more than just an athlete. He’s also a genuine, kind, friendly dog who loves people. Smart and eager to please, he even knows his basic commands, walks nicely on leash, and thrives on human interaction. Wilson gets along well with bigger dogs and loves having playmates. He brings a lot of enthusiasm to playtime and can sometimes come on a little strong, but it all comes from a place of excitement and friendliness. With the right match and a proper introduction, his playful spirit makes him a great companion for other confident pups.

When it comes to people? Wilson can’t get enough! He hasn’t had much experience with children, so we can’t say for sure how he’d do, but his affectionate nature makes us believe he’d enjoy being part of a family that wants him involved in daily life. What makes Wilson truly shine is his balance. Yes, he’s energetic, playful, and smart, but he’s also gentle, attentive, and eager to please. Whether you’re hitting the trails, heading to the beach, or just hanging out in the backyard, Wilson is the kind of dog who will always be up for the ride.

After everything he’s been through, Wilson deserves more than a kennel and daily walks. He deserves a life filled with joy, adventure, and the unconditional love of a family that sees just how special he is. Come meet Wilson at the Humane Society of Ventura County, 402 Bryant St. in Ojai. We’re open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm. Who knows, your next great adventure buddy might just be waiting for you in the form of a black-and-white Border Collie mix with a tail that won’t stop wagging.

Included with every dog adoption is the first DHPP shot of the series (if age allows), a rabies vaccine (if age allows), a wellness check good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, implanting an identification microchip with registration, spay or neuter surgery (if necessary), as well as a collar, ID tag, and a leash.
