A Legacy of Adoption

For some families, adopting once just isn't enough! Instead, they repeatedly open their hearts and homes to rescue animals in need. This is certainly true for Annie, Dr. Danny Cox, Vincent, and Vida, who have happily welcomed four cats from the Humane Society of Ventura County into their family over the past two years. Their home has become a cozy sanctuary filled with warmth, lively personalities, and an abundance of adorable whiskers, making it a vibrant and loving environment.
The family's first adoption story began in November 2023 with Gustavo, a now two-year-old big boy with dark stripes and adorable white paws. With his gentle presence and unmistakable charm, Gustavo quickly became the heart of the home, and perhaps set the stage for what came next. In August 2025, Annie and family returned to the shelter and adopted Rosie, a now five-month-old gray tabby full of youthful curiosity and kitten energy. Rosie brought a playful spark into the home and fit right in alongside her older feline sibling.

Then, during Thanksgiving 2025, the family opened their home once more to two tiny kittens, Rocky and Tilly, both just 12-weeks-old. Rocky, affectionately nicknamed Rocky Raccoon for his raccoon-like markings and unique three-legged stride, captured hearts instantly. His sister Tilly, mostly white with soft black spots, completed the rowdy bunch. Together, they added a whole new level of fun, mischief, and sweetness to the family dynamic.

From one cat to four, this family's story is a beautiful reminder that love multiplies. Each adoption gave a deserving animal the chance to be a part of a family filled with care and connection.

We are so grateful to Annie, Dr. Danny Cox, Vincent, and Vida for choosing adoption and for showing how one loving choice can have a domino effect. Gustavo Rosie, Rocky, and Tilly are lucky to have found such a special home, and we are grateful to have been a part of their journey. Thank you to this incredible family for giving these cats the best life they could ask for!
