Tundra is Looking for his True Forever Friend

Tundra may have had a rough start in life, but this 17-year-old Grey Arabian is incredibly resilient! He possesses an abundance of love and affection to share with those around him. Rescued from a heartbreaking situation of neglect and abuse, Tundra made his way to HSVC just before Christmas of 2022. Since arriving at the shelter, the handsome gelding has been making remarkable strides toward recovery, thanks to our shelter team's dedicated care and unwavering patience.

While he continues to face ongoing metabolic and thyroid health challenges, which require careful management, Tundra remains a cheerful and uplifting presence in the pasture. He finds joy in gentle trots and the simple pleasure of being in the company of others. However, it's important to note that he will need time and gentle patience to fully warm up to new equine companions. Building trust with Tundra is a rewarding journey that requires understanding and compassion.

Tundra has been saddled and is gradually building confidence with the help of our staff. He'd be best off with an intermediate rider, as he can be a bit anxious without slow, steady guidance. A calm, experienced handler who can move at his own pace will bring out the best in him. This smart boy is looking for an adopter who is not only committed to providing him with a loving home but also dedicated to managing his specific medical needs. Such needs include providing him with daily supplements and necessary thyroid medication to keep him healthy and thriving. In return for your care and commitment, Tundra promises to offer serene companionship, a gentle heart, and the opportunity to create a bond that can last a lifetime. With him, you’ll have the chance to enjoy quiet moments and the joy of having a cherished pasture buddy by your side.

If you're someone who is looking to make a meaningful difference by offering a loving home to a horse who has truly overcome the odds, Tundra might just be your perfect match. Embrace the opportunity to give him the life he deserves and experience the joy that comes with his unwavering companionship.
