Director

Steve recently retired from a 50-year career serving children and adults with disabilities. As an advocate, he represented hundreds of individuals and families in their efforts to achieve their rights to quality education and community living services.  As Executive Director of the Tierra del Sol Foundation for twenty-five years, Steve helped create many of the programs and services that now provide people with autism and other intellectual disabilities with opportunities to earn college degrees, embark on productive career paths and live full and valued community lives. While at Tierra Steve, they launched their therapeutic horse riding and animal care programs and established collaboratives with numerous community shelters, enabling people with disabilities to become valued volunteers for animal welfare organizations.

Steve lives in Ventura with his wife, Katie, their five chickens, and Zoey, their scruffy rescue pup.
