Ozzie’s Big Adventure Starts with You

If you're looking for a pup with pep, personality, and plenty of zoomies, Ozzie might just be your perfect match! This handsome 5-year-old Pittie mix has been with us since mid-January, and he's more than ready to leave shelter life behind for good. With his compact, sturdy build (we like to call him "schmedium-sized"), Ozzie brings just the right amount of strength and snuggles to the table. Ozzie is a classic free spirit; he loves to stay busy, explore, and run out his energy in joyful bursts. Independent at heart, he's perfectly content doing zoomies solo, but he’s also very into people and won’t hesitate to share his thoughts when he's feeling playful or excited. He’s a talkative guy with a big personality and a bigger heart.

Ozzie chooses his dog friends wisely and will need a proper introduction to any canine companions. We feel he'd be open to the right four-legged friend! Horses, however, are still a bit of a mystery to him, and his reaction leans more “wild west” than “peaceful pasture,”. Our staff feel a horse-free home is best for this curious boy. Ozzie would thrive in an active household with people who understand and appreciate his need for play, routine, and a little independence. Whether it’s hiking, tossing a ball in the backyard, or just being your ride-or-die adventure buddy, Ozzie is always ready to roll.

Come meet Ozzie at HSVC, located at 402 Bryant Street in Ojai. Our visiting hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm, and Ozzie would be thrilled to show off his best zoomies just for you. Included with every dog adoption will be the first DHPP shot of the series (if age allows),  a rabies vaccine (if age allows), a wellness check good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, implanting an identification microchip with registration, spay or neuter surgery, if necessary, as well as a collar, ID tag, and a leash.
