We have good news! Chubby and Pork Chop have found a new family...together! It was only a couple weeks ago these two goofballs were surrendered to our Humane Officers in the field.
Be part of a Ventura County tradition! This year marks the 29th Annual Santa Paws event to raise much needed funds for animals in need through out the area. Get a festive holiday photo with you and your pets while supporting your local no-kill shelter!
The HSVC now has Pet Emergency Duffle Bags for sale in the Pet Gift Store! Duffle bag includes a travel bowl, extra collar and leash, and an emergency kit including many first aid items.
November is Adopt-A-Senior Pet month! Nationwide rescues and shelters are celebrating the charms and perks of adopting a senior animal.
Don’t wait for your pet to develop nasty breath, or worse yet, gingivitis or other infections. No more need to worry about cost or about having your pet put under anesthesia to have its teeth cleaned. The fee is only $140 and 15% will be donated to the HSVC. Call or email Houndstooth Pet Dental today to make your appointment!
Halloween costumes are on-sale now at the HSVC! We have a good selection of (mostly small-medium) costumes for dogs and cats. We are asking for a a donation of $5 for each costume. All proceeds go to benefit our Spay and Neuter Program! Thank you to the kind folks who donated these awesome costumes to help raise funds for animals in need!
The HSVC is happy to report that thanks to the overwhelming support of our community and volunteers we were able to provide our dogs with an improved play yard over the weekend. You may recall about a month ago we sent out a call to our supporters to help with funds to repair a few of our yards. We ended up raising more than we expected and were able to purchase the materials necessary to put up new siding on all of our big dog yards!
