Ivan Chen is a financial professional with over 15 years of experience across finance, insurance, and real estate. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UC Irvine and began his career in real estate and mortgages just before the 2008 financial crisis, sparking his passion for risk management. Ivan has held roles at leading institutions, including AIG, JPMorgan Chase, City National Bank, and MUFG, and currently serves as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in Ojai.

Ivan is also the CFO and occasional janitor of Wild Qi, an integrative health and wellness community/clinic located in Ojai. Ivan, with his wife, Nathalie Shapiro, a licensed acupuncturist, moved from Los Angeles to build Wild Qi and serve the local community.  

Ivan lives in Ojai with Nathalie, his son Sage, and his dog Cheddar.  Ivan adopted Cheddar while volunteering at the Los Angeles County Animal Shelter where Ivan was cleared to work with dogs with behavioral issues. Ivan is Fear Free shelter-trained and has worked with dogs, cats, and bunnies.  Ivan firmly believes that people are happier living alongside animals.
