Henry arrived at the Humane Society of Ventura County in late August 2025 after being surrendered by his previous owners due to financial hardship. While his living circumstances changed, his heart never did. From day one, Henry has been nothing but affectionate, charming, and full of life. It didn't take long for him to become a staff and volunteer favorite in the barn. Now, we need your help to get this seasoned senior the happily ever after he deserves! 

If you're looking for a horse who truly loves people, Henry is your guy. He is always seeking connection, companionship, and a gentle hand to nuzzle. He enjoys spending time with other horses and has a well-known soft spot for the ladies. Though he's gelded, Henry remains a bit of a romantic, forming closer emotional bonds with mares and thriving in social settings. Despite being a senior, Henry carries himself like a horse half his age. With a background in riding and trail work, he still has enthusiasm and energy for light riding, bonding time, and relaxed adventures. Whether it's a quiet trail ride or peaceful moments together in the pasture, Henry would love a home where he can enjoy life at a comfortable, slow pace.

Always a gentleman, Henry stands beautifully in the wash rack and is cooperative during care and treatments. Recently, he underwent the removal of one eye due to an old injury that could no longer be treated. Even so, his cheerful spirit remains unchanged. He navigates the world confidently, just be sure to greet him on his seeing side!
