Beauty is Looking For Her Fairytale Ending

Beauty is a resilient and affectionate 16-year-old mare living up to her name. She came to us after being surrendered to our Humane Officers during a humane investigation. The sweet Quarterhorse was in poor condition—emaciated and afflicted with a severe skin condition called rain rot all over her body. With dedicated care, she’s almost at a healthy weight and only requires a bit more time to strengthen her top line. Otherwise, Beauty is in excellent health!

Above: Beauty's condition when she first arrived at the shelter.
According to her previous owner, Beauty is trained and has been ridden by both children and adults. She is food-motivated and will eagerly greet you with a knicker during mealtimes. A true “people horse,” she adores attention, especially enjoying a good brushing, and has a naturally sweet and gentle disposition. Beauty is sociable with other horses and has even formed a bond with another horse in our barn named Bella, who is quite selective with her friendships. Beauty’s calm and curious nature makes her a fantastic role model for younger or less confident horses—she knows the ropes and sets a wonderful example around the barn. While she trailers well with other horses, she might need a bit of encouragement to travel solo. This inquisitive girl loves to explore new environments and absorbs everything with thoughtful curiosity!
An ideal home for Beauty would include being part of the family. She would be a great companion for trail rides or for a laid-back barn lifestyle. She thrives best with other horses and would especially suit someone seeking a calm, confident horse to assist in guiding or raising younger equines. Whether you’re in search of a reliable trail partner or a gentle mentor in the pasture, Beauty is ready to bring love, wisdom, and grace to her next chapter.
